More than 1,000 copies of the small three-emitter were produced by the end of production in 1978. The majority of over 500 copies were used by Aeroflot as feeder aircraft in all corners of the vast Soviet empire. Even after the dissolution of the USSR, the now Russian Aeroflot used numerous copies until 1995. The robust machine could even be operated on meadow slopes and also required little on-site infrastructure. The entry and exit stairs in the rear can also be shown open or closed in this latest edition.
