Delta Air Lines Boeing 727-100 N1635 Herpa Wings 537278 Scale 1:500
Herpa Wings 1:500 scale series
Die cast metallic model.
This die-cast metal airplane model comes in 1/500 scale with landing gear no stand. Model is approximately 3 1/8 inches long with 2 1/2 inch wingspan. On February 1, 1964, this only three-engine aircraft developed by Boeing entered service for the first time. To this day, the 727, with its distinctive T-shaped tail and three rear engines, remains one of the most popular and well-known aircraft. In 2024, Herpa will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 727 with a selection of new models in a classic design. Delta Air Lines became the largest operator of the 727 with more than 190 examples of both series. However, Delta received the first examples in a detour in 1972 through the takeover of Northeast Airlines, including eight examples of the short 727-100, including the N1635 built in 1966.
