On May 2, 1947, a Swissair passenger flight to America took off from Geneva for the first time. The fiftieth anniversary of this first Atlantic crossing was proudly celebrated by repeating it on May 2, 1997 with a DC-4 on the historic route and in historic Swissair livery. For this, the Swiss rented a DC-4 and crew from the South African Airways Museum Society. 2022 marks the 75th anniversary of Swissair's first transatlantic flight. On this occasion, Herpa is releasing the DC-4, with which Swissair celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of its first transatlantic flight, in a scale of 1:200.
