Scale 1:200
The US Air Force has been flying the now legendary C-130 Hercules since 1956. One of the first recipients at the time was Little Rock Air Base in Arkansas, where Hercules transport aircraft are still stationed. Little Rock was home to four Hercules crews in the 1950s, who demonstrated the aircraft's outstanding characteristics in a somewhat unconventional way at the time. When the daily dropping of troops could not be practiced because of strong winds, the pilots tried formation flying and low-level flights. In fact, it became an official demonstration team that called themselves "The Four Horsemen" and showed how maneuverable a nearly 60-ton aircraft can be. For the 65th anniversary of the base, one of the current C-130J Super Hercules was painted in the retro bright red of the aerobatic team.
